iTunes to have Podcast Support

So, Apple has noticed that podcasting is here to stay, and are planning to integrate support for RSS feeds with audio content in their next version of iTunes. Should be interesting, although, I must say that I will continue to use iPodderX. Just like I use a separate news reader for my RSS feeds. It’s nice that the support is in Safari, but I don’t really use it to read my news. iPodderX does a superb job of getting the audio I need, converting it and provides me a wonderful directory of content. Plus a much faster development cycle over apple.

Birds Reference

Thank goodness for the blog. I desided today it was a good idea to compile a list of all the birds and their ages in case we need to go to the vet. I was able to use my entries on the blog to figure out when we got all of the birds and the pictures of them to estimate their ages at the time.
I’m going to follow this up with weighing them every week to better track their health.

Apple Store Canada opens it’s first

So, it’s official, after getting up at 7 am and arriving at 8 am, I’m in the apple store a mere 2h 50m later. Lots of nice people in line, and quite the layout. I’ll post up some pictures of the line and such, when I get home, it’s a little crowded in here. I was actually around the 400th person to enter the store. Definitely worth the wait.

Phantasy Star Online Blue Burst

How sweet is this. I used to play PSO on my Dreamcast and then on my XBox, except that for the XBox play you HAVE to have a Live account, that I didn’t want to pay for any more. Anyhow, there is an open Beta of the next PSO for PC. Free download, free play, and when they go live, you get to keep your character. Find out all the details here: PSO BB Official Site

Every once in a while I feel the need to post a picture of all my birds with their names beside them, this is partly so that if I die at least there is a record of their names and partly so that my mom, grandma and Jason can study it and learn their names. (Jason during a recent quiz scored 8/9 at guessing their names, his highest score yet)
Posting this picture today breaks my heart because its missing some of my most beloved birds. Marygold, Monet and Bogart who are no longer with us who I love so much and miss every single day.
We also have a couple of new arrivals, Tyberius and Sidewalk Eddy. We bought Ty at PetCetera (the Mississauga petstore that is partnered with the Mississauga Humane Society) because we just thought she was beautiful. Sidewalk Eddy joined us earlier this week after a MHS vollunteer found him on the sidewalk while he was walking his foster dogs.
Please feel free to download this picture as a reference guide before you visit next time (Mom!). Hahaha

Ray got Interviewed for iPodderX

My buddy Ray was featured in a podcast where he was interviewed about his application iPodderX. It’s worth a listen. That’s way cool Ray.

Beer Blog

So, sad but true. The other day, I spent a good 40 minutes standing in the beer store, trying to make a decision around what beer I wished to purchase. Although I’ve tried a large number beers, I was having problems remembering from that experience which ones I enjoyed.

So I took it upon myself to put together a repository of reviews of different beers from all over the world, that are available in my area. I’ve enlisted the assistance of my friends, and anyone who reads this blog, to comment on the beers listed as to your personal feelings on the particulars of each beer.

My hope is that no more, will men stand dumbfounded by the exhaustive selection of so many good things.

Check it out. The Beer Blog @ http://beer.sdf1.net

Forza Motorsport is Awesome

So, Staysea is off visiting her parents in Vancouver, so I am left here with my XBox and Forza racing. Actually, I played for 7 hours last night, and I must say it’s an awesome game.

I particularly like the fact that you can turn on a best line, that shows green when you’re okay for the corner, and fades to yellow and red to warn you that you’re not going to make it. Add to that a myriad of very cool and fast cars that can be painted, decaled, tuned, and upgraded and you have your self some racing fun.

There is also something called a Drivatar. Basically, it is an AI that you program by driving a series of tracks, both a set group of six tracks, and your average performance, of those tracks is how the Drivatar will perform when you choose to have it run the race instead of doing it your self. This is particularly useful when you have to go get another beer or cook dinner.
