Winter
Firstly, Congrats to Paul and Sonia who have the cutest baby on earth! I can’t wait to see if “Xbox” will be his first word. lol
I think I’m ready for winter to be over. I really love the season but so far it hasn’t been working out for me. Today I was at the dog park with Happie and his orange and white spaniel jumped up on my leg and tore its claws through my frozen flesh, i can’t begin to explain how much that hurt.
Secondly my car is old and would like to move to Florida, it really doesn’t like the cold and sometimes theres little i can do to motivate it to start. It even freezes itself shut so I can’t even try.
The good news is that on my way to Guelph today for my second last exam (yay!) I noticed that Glen Eden has a base. Yay x2!
There is hope for winter yet!
Now for the whole point of this posting….
Is anyone else interested in finding some good in this winter ugliness by taking a trip up to Blue Mountain next week (if they’re open of course)? Most of us should be done exams or be on holidays!
If you’re intersted let me know!!
I also wanted to post in reference to my poem about the 401 from last winter, that I’ve already been stuck in 3 accidents on the 401 WEST at Guelph Line. If you’ve forgotten it i’ll repost it.
Last year at that point on the 401 I was stuck because of an accident an average of twise a week for 1.5-4 hours each time.
Accidents almost always involved at least one car and one tractor trailer and occured in the right lane.
My “poem” might sound like angry rating (it is) but there is also alot of truth to it. From what i’ve seen so far this year (and its only snowed twise) the same things are happening again. So my “poem” is my list of survival tips to you. enjoy!
Here is my special request to the people of Ontario…
If you got your ontario driver licence from a cereal box…..please dont drive on the 401 westbound through Guelph Line.
If your IQ is lower than your cats…..please dont drive on the 401 westbound through Guelph Line.
If you’re heading to Laurier go back to your high school (because its about the same thing) …..please dont drive on the 401 westbound through Guelph Line.
If for some reason you get the urge to slide your car along its roof like a sled…..please dont drive on the 401 westbound through Guelph Line. (That stuff only works for John, believe me, I tried it too)
If you think that just because your truck has 18-wheel drive that the ditch might be a short cut …..please dont drive on the 401 westbound through Guelph Line.
If driving is a new to or you don’t do it very often…..please dont drive on the 401 westbound through Guelph Line.
If you’re of the belief that the 401 west of the city is still governed by the same laws as the rest of the provincal highways ask a truck driver, unless you have 18 wheels know your place! and…..please dont drive on the 401 westbound through Guelph Line.
If you think that its okay to go 100km/h because thats the speed limit and you’re going to do it in the right lane….you’re going to get side swiped off the road by a truck so……please dont drive on the 401 westbound through Guelph Line.
The 401 west of milton is a battle ground so unless you’re ready to go to war in order to survive why don’t you just stay off of it. And if you have to drive that way for whatever reason wear your helmet, stay ahead of the trucks, stay out of the right and middle lanes when the road slopes up, stay out of the right lane completely, turn your headlights on, have 911 on speed dial and start praying. Does that scare you? Good, stay off the 401!

Snow you say
… I’ve been skiing with the ski patrol since November 21st! The snow base starts just out side my apartment door, and I’ve been scraping ice and shoveling snow for almost a month now
!
A trip up to Blue Mountain would be great! Perhaps next Thursday, or Friday…
My girlfriend’s friend was killed yesterday on the 401 at Bayview Ave. I hate the 401. As soon as I get into Toronto I always take the 407. Worth the toll to save my life. I am driving on the 401 tomorrow night….pray for me …please.
