Certainly a minority.
Well, it looks like the people have spoken and they have brought in a minority Liberal government, with the NDP without enough seats to make a majority vote, Paul Martin is going to have to reach out to Bloc Québécois and Conservative to get the vote. Voter turnout was fair with a 60.5% turnout. I’m happy with a Liberal minority, I would have been happier with a Conservative minority, kept in check by being a minority.

1 commentGo Vote
It’s election day and here is some useful information so you can go out and get some information, if you have not done so yet.
Elections Canada Website: www.elections.ca
Here you can find out where to vote and who you will be voting for.
One thing of note, if you are going to vote Conservative, don’t get confused on your ballot and vote PC, that is the Progressive Canadian Party, and NOT the Conservative Party, lead by Stephen Harper.
And in no particular order…
Liberal Party of Canada: www.liberal.ca (Download Platform)
Conservative Party of Canada: www.conservative.ca (Download Platform)
New Democratic Party: www.ndp.ca (Download Platform)
Green Party of Canada: www.greenparty.ca
Progressive Conservative Party: www.pcparty.org
I in no way endorse any of these parties, I’m still trying to make up my own mind. Go make up yours. If you just can’t make a decision, go to the polls, strike your ballot, and show your overwhelming lack of faith in the current party members. But try and remember, that you’re really supposed to be voting for the individual in your area who is going to represent your needs in the federal forum.

No commentsMigrate to GMail
I got my Google Mail account yesterday, thanks to one of Nick’s friends for the invite. Currently GMail is still in it’s beta, but they are handing out invitations all over the place. I also found that it crashed my Safari on a number of occasions. Probably some Java somewhere.
So, now that I’ve got a Gig of mail space online, and fully indexed and searchable using the power of Google, do you think I’m just going to sit around and wait for it to fill up? No way! Check out Gmail Loader. It allows you to IMPORT all your mail to your GMail account from pretty much any mail source. Including Apple Mail, Netscape, Mozilla and Outlook.

Our flock as expanded yet again! This one is a bit different. He’s a very rare Turquoisine Parakeet, an Australian grass parakeet. They are rather expensive if you can find a breeder that actually has them, but like all my other birds he is also a rescue.
after a small fortune spent at an avian vet treating his injured leg. I took him to Dr. Valsamis at Brittania Animal Hospital and was HUGELY impressed with his knowledge and treatment, i’ll be taking all of my birds to him from now on.
I found him in the parking lot at my new job….on the first day…making me 30 minutes late after i drove him home…oops. Thank goodness Paul and Theresa are understanding people and forgave me!
We could use a little help naming this little guy. Spencer calls him Paint Bucket, Jason calls him Taz and I’ve been calling him Champ. If you got any suggestions I’d love to hear them!!! Thanks
7 commentsExcellent!!
We had an awesome time this weekend at James’s cottage (awesome party friend)! Spent some time watching Jeff and James swim and tow the ski-do 2km back to shore, had some drinks, ate some bbq….watched the dog learn to “swim”. My dog ‘accidentally’ fell off the dock and sank like a rock. So much for his canine instincts. I had to pull him out by his arms before he drowned. At least i dont have to worry about him becoming a big water loving freak and always smelling like wet dog….
1 commentA Black Movie Screen?
Sony has unveiled their latest technological creation, a black screen for digital projections. Why black? Well, it’s a special screen that reflects only red, green and blue projector light and absorbs ambient light. To clarify, no reflected ambient light, no glare on the screen. The end result is a beautiful bright picture in a bright room. This would certainly make it easier to put a screen up in your home and have a digital projector rather than a television.

Music on the Cheap
I’ve started using an online music store called All Of MP3. It’s based out of Russia and has an interesting way of pricing their music, it’s by the meg. Seriously, you login, find the artist, pick the song or album, choose the type of encoding you want and the quality (obviously better = larger) and they charge you 1¢ per meg. So about $5 US will get you 10 CDs.

Re: Johns comment from ‘Our Guard Dog’
Look at this goof! He’s just asking to be thrown in! I suppose if this weekend doesn’t change his mind we’ll have to take him and Sam to the lake…peer pressure might do the trick. lol
