So, I learned that my 7.2 volt cordless drill is great for little projects here and there, but not so hot for driving a bunch of deck screws. Just like the deck screws holding the frames for the window seats.
I wasn’t going to do anything about it, but I was in Home Depot and they had a Black and Decker display with some 14 volt drills with a 24 position clutch for only $69.95. Great! Problem, that’s the one on display but the only 14 volt ones they had where 6 position clutch models. Odd I thought, and the only 24 clutch ones where 9.6 volts, a hair better than what I already had. So, Ray and I (since Ray was with me), wandered over to the actual tool section, low and behold, there are 18 volt drills with a 24 position clutch. The price? $69 flat.
Right, so, I shopped around in the same store found the next model up and it was a buck cheaper?!?! Whatever.
Word to the wise, if you don’t like the prices in Home Depot, look around they probably have something better for less.
